Meet Jeff Whillock
Jeff Whillock is a member of Fitness-4-Less. He has an amazing, inspirational story that we’d like to share. He is truly a Fitness Hero Among Us!
Jeff was born prematurely in 1960 with Cerebral Palsy. He endured years of physical therapy and numerous corrective surgeries as a young person and finally, after a series of hip surgeries, began his journey to a stronger, healthier life.
In 1997, Jeff began working with a personal trainer. Setting-up the initial session was difficult for Jeff, but he knew that he needed to move beyond the clinic rehab setting to resistance training in order to really progress. He showed up for his first session on a walker and quad cane. He worked with his trainer to improve his overall strength and flexibility. To their amazement, Jeff was able to walk without assistance within six weeks!
Taking that first step and beginning to work out with a trainer set the foundation for a new life for Jeff. Today, 13 years later, Jeff landed expert personal trainer, T.C. Slay at Fitness-4-Less.
Jeff told T.C. that his goal was to be able to bench press 50 lbs. Today, just six months later, Jeff is working out with T.C. on a regular basis and bench pressing 145 lbs. and he has improved his mobility 100%!
“T.C.’s dedication and expertise is allowing me to continue to progress everyday well beyond our expectations. Working with a personal trainer isn’t as intimidating as some people might think. It’s extremely motivating and rewarding. My experience proves that anything is truly possible,” stated Jeff.
